About

Vision

The vision of People’s CORE is the socio-economic-political empowerment of the people where self-sustaining, locally-controlled communities provide housing, education, and fulfilling employment with livable wages and justice for all.

Mission

The mission of People’s CORE is to train, organize, and mobilize the Asian Pacific Islander grassroots and general community in creating systemic change. People’s CORE strives to empower the community through alliance building, base building, capacity building, and organizing.

As an integral part of our work, People’s CORE offers community residents leadership development training to build up their knowledge and skills toward advocating for their rights and welfare. In this manner, People’s CORE empowers the community by building the capacity of residents and promoting collective action through grassroots organizing.

History

People’s CORE, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was formed in 1996 by Asian and Pacific Islander community organizers and other progressive professionals including academicians and lawyers to conduct grassroots organizing in the communities of Los Angeles and the South Bay.
