About

Vision

The vision of People’s CORE is the socio-economic-political empowerment of the people where self-sustaining, locally-controlled communities provide housing, education, health care, and fulfilling employment with livable wages and justice for all.

Mission

The mission of People’s CORE is to empower the Asian Pacific Islander and general community in contributing to systemic social change through bottom-up community organizing.

History

In order to respond to the changing social needs in the communities of Los Angeles and the South Bay, People’s CORE, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was formed in 1996 by an ethnically diverse group of progressive academics, community organizers, and lawyers. Since then People’s CORE has implemented programs and projects emphasizing alliance building, base building, capacity building, and organizing.
